ZONA PERANG (zonaperang.com) On this day in 1948, the Netherlands launches a military offensive against the newly formed Republic of Indonesia. The offensive was called operation Kraai (Crow). With an airborne attack, Yogyakarta was captured and Indonesian leader Sukarno was arrested.
Referred as the second Politionele acties by the Dutch, it is more commonly known in Indonesian history books and military records as Agresi Militer Belanda II (Dutch Military Aggression II).
