ZONA PERANG (zonaperang.com) – On this day in 1815, France agrees to pay war reparations worth 700 million francs for Napoleon’s failed Waterloo campaign. France was also to pay additional money to cover the cost of providing additional defensive fortifications to be built by neighbouring Coalition countries. In proportion to its GDP, it’s the most expensive war reparation ever paid by a defeated country.
